Intro to Precision Carbine

Intro to Precision Carbine — 1 Day

This course bridges the gap between general-purpose carbine work and true precision rifle application.

It is not a beginner class, but it is also not an advanced long-range sniper course.
It is designed for shooters who are already competent with a carbine and want to develop a structured understanding of precision performance out to intermediate distances.

We will build the foundation required to produce consistent, accountable hits on small targets at distance.

Course Focus

  • Optic & Supporting Gear Selection — Choosing equipment that supports precision performance, not just aesthetics.
  • External Ballistics — Understanding bullet behavior, trajectory, environmental factors, and mechanical offset.
  • Zeroing & Data Collection — Establishing an honest zero and gathering usable performance data.
  • Shooter / Spotter Communication — Clear, efficient language that produces faster corrections and better outcomes.
  • Positional Shooting — Building stable positions using bipods, bags, and natural support.

Throughout the day, students will engage 1–3 MOA targets out to 300 yards.
The emphasis is on building repeatable processes and understanding why the rifle performs the way it does.

This is not a “send rounds and hope” class.
It is a structured introduction to precision thinking with a carbine.

Course Requirements

  • Serviceable carbine capable of sub-2 MOA
  • LPVO (with 1/4 or .1 clicks) or larger optic
  • 400 rounds of appropriate ammo
  • Smartphone with a ballistics solver app
    (I recommend GeoBallistics)
  • Bipod
  • Shooting mat
  • Shooting bag
(I recommend the Armageddon Gear Schmedium Game Changer in heavy or medium fill —
    synergyshooting.com/armageddon)
  • Any creature comforts needed to sustain 8–9 hours on the range

  • Law enforcement or professional end users seeking better understanding of ballistics and positional shooting.
  • Competitors looking to improve stability, corrections, and accountability on small targets.
  • Rifle owners who want to understand their equipment instead of relying on guesswork.
